As a global business, we recognize our duty to operate sustainably and help protect the environment for future generations.
Our sustainability strategy focuses on three main areas: Reduce, Offset, and Educate. This approach defines our commitment to lowering our environmental impact, investing in responsible carbon offset projects, and encouraging our teams and clients to make sustainable choices every day.
Servcorp has proudly supported The Green Offices Project since 2007, our global initiative aimed at restoring natural ecosystems through revegetation, carbon offsetting, and conservation programs. Our Virtual Offices are a naturally and environmentally friendly option, promoting this initiative and cutting the environmental footprint of businesses around the world.
Through this project, we seek to lower carbon emissions, offset our current footprint, and educate our teams and clients on how to reduce their environmental impact. Besides lowering greenhouse gases, our work is also helping to improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and restore essential habitats for local wildlife.
Our long-term partnership with Greenfleet has led to the restoration of about 90,000 native trees across several forest sites, covering around 850,000 square meters of land. That’s larger than the total floor space of Servcorp’s global office network.
We are enhancing our commitment by creating the Servcorp Forest in collaboration with Greenfleet. This legally protected nature reserve will promote biodiversity, remove carbon dioxide from the air, and restore habitats for wildlife, including endangered species. Together, we’re working to make a long-lasting environmental impact that extends beyond our office walls.
Servcorp has partnered with Greenfleet, an environmental non-profit focused on reforestation and climate action. Through this partnership, we’ve significantly contributed to restoring native ecosystems and supporting local communities throughout Australia.
In 2022, we strengthened our long-standing relationship with Greenfleet by committing to provide up to $1 million over ten years for projects that focus on native ecosystem restoration and conservation.
From 2022 to 2024, Servcorp’s funding helped support the restoration of the Mareeba Wetlands, an important project for boosting biodiversity and restoring native habitats. Our current efforts aim to restore native plant species and protect koala habitats at Haly Creek Road, furthering our commitment to sustainable environmental recovery.
Muluridgi Country
Located in the Mareeba Wetlands Nature Reserve on Muluridgi Country in North Queensland, this project aims to restore and protect natural wetland ecosystems. Over the past three years, the area has seen the planting of native vegetation, restoring more than 30 hectares of valuable habitat that supports a rich diversity of native species.
The Mareeba Wetlands offer essential conservation opportunities for over 220 bird species, as well as many frogs, reptiles, and fish. The site also protects one of the most diverse mammal habitats in the Cape York region, home to the northern quoll (Dasyurushallucatus), a species listed as endangered.
While the initial phase of revegetation is now finished, Greenfleet will keep monitoring the forest’s growth. This will help ensure its long-term health, resilience, and support for.
Waka Waka Country
Located inland from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, this project helps restore about 50 locally native plant species. These species represent the endangered open forest and vine forest ecosystems that once thrived here before land clearing.
Koalas, seen near the site as recently as November 2024, will benefit from the planting of species that provide suitable habitat and food sources. The project will also improve biodiversity by creating a flourishing environment for echidnas, possums, and many native bird species as the restored forest grows.
Yuggera Country
Located northwest of Brisbane, this large reforestation project spans more than 250 hectares across two properties. It is part of Servcorp’s ongoing commitment to environmental restoration in partnership with Greenfleet.
The project focuses on restoring native forest along the Cherry Gully riparian corridor, an ecologically important area that supports a variety of wildlife. This reforestation will provide critical habitat and food sources for koalas, which are listed as endangered in Queensland, and whose presence has already been confirmed on the property. By planting native tree species that match the region’s original ecosystems, the project will strengthen local biodiversity and promote long-term habitat connectivity across the landscape.
Beyond supporting koalas, this initiative will aid native bird species that depend on healthy forest systems for shelter and survival. The restoration of natural vegetation along Cherry Gully, Ivory Creek, and the Brisbane River Catchment will also help improve water quality, soil stability, and carbon capture, providing both local and climate-wide environmental benefits.
Boonwurrung Country
Since 2016, Servcorp has supported the restoration of Wurneet Laang Laang, a key project in Greenfleet’s Strzelecki Nature Link initiative. This project is located at the head of the Lang Lang River in South Gippsland. More than 60,000 native trees have been planted, helping to restore a crucial natural ecosystem that supports wildlife and improves landscape resilience.
Over 20 locally native tree and shrub species have been reintroduced, including silver wattle (Acacia dealbata) and the vulnerable Strzelecki gum (Eucalyptus strzeleckii). These species are essential for regenerating the region’s ecological balance and providing habitat diversity. In 2019, koalas were spotted living among the young trees just three years after planting, showing the quick success of the restoration efforts. By 2024, genetic testing confirmed the presence of Strzelecki koalas, which is significant because this population comes from Victoria’s original koala gene pool and has not been moved, making it important for conservation.
Today, the Wurneet Laang Laang forest keeps thriving as a habitat stronghold, offering food and shelter for many native bird species and local wildlife. This project shows how long-term environmental partnerships can produce real results by restoring ecosystems, protecting endangered species, and ensuring that native forests can thrive for generations to come.
Boonwurrung Country
In 2018, Servcorp supported the restoration of over 26,000 native trees and shrubs at Corymbia Farm in West Gippsland, a region of ecological importance in Victoria. This area is home to the endangered Giant Gippsland Earthworm (Megascolides australis), known as Karmain in the Boonwurrung language. This unique species is found nowhere else in the world.
The site is at risk of landslides and soil instability, which threaten the earthworm’s sensitive underground habitat. To address these risks, Greenfleet carefully planted native vegetation to protect the ecosystem’s long-term health.
Wiradjuri Country
This 1,700-hectare property had been heavily cleared, leaving small patches of native vegetation scattered throughout. Located next to Buddigower State Forest and near the Buddigower Nature Reserve, this site is biologically significant. It forms part of a crucial ecological corridor that supports a critically endangered ecological community and over 20 animal species that are listed as endangered or vulnerable, including migratory species like the swift parrot.
The restoration of this property helps reconnect fragmented habitats, restore native vegetation, and boost biodiversity in the region. By re-establishing landscape connectivity, the project strengthens local ecosystems, supports wildlife movement, and reinforces long-term conservation values for one of Australia’s most important environmental corridors.
Located in Sydney’s northwest, the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary spans 35 acres of protected bushland and serves as a critical refuge for Australia’s native wildlife. The sanctuary is vital for rescuing, rehabilitating, and recovering threatened species. It is also working towards creating an Emergency Response Centre to provide immediate care for injured animals during natural disasters such as bushfires and floods.
Servcorp is proud to support the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in its mission to protect and preserve Australia’s unique ecosystems. Through our contributions, we help ensure that the sanctuary can continue its essential work, from providing safe habitats and medical care for wildlife to promoting long-term conservation and environmental education initiatives.
Servcorp aims to make a positive difference beyond business by supporting meaningful causes that improve lives and strengthen communities. So far, Servcorp and CEO have contributed over $1.2 million to programs and charities that reflect our values of compassion, opportunity, and sustainability.
